How to draw blurred and bokeh backgrounds
I recently wrote a tutorial with some advice about compositions - Tips to improve your compositions - and using blurred backgrounds was one of the main points there. However, it just mentioned why it might be a good idea to do it (said simply, a blurred background will add extra emphasis on the character/foreground, while there still being a scenery/some context. It's also a great way to add more depth), and not much about how it is done. Blurred backgrounds We're starting with the easier ones - just your usual blurred background. Of course, you can blur more or less, from just making the details less sharp to basically erasing all details and having larger areas of the same/very similar colors: The cheetahs have an obvious scenery around them - even blurred, you can see we're dealing with gravel and grass. The waxwing image has more abstract shapes in the background, but it's still understandable as branches. Lastly, the goldcrest just has color shapes behind them. Considering this
